Janelle has always loved books and writing, and that passion only grew throughout her undergrad work at Grand Valley State University, where she received her BA in writing. After she graduated, she spent seven years at Zondervan Publishing House, now HCCP, working in both the trade and academic book departments. Her eye for detail and consistency became one of her best assets and she finds immense joy in helping authors and writers see their dreams come to fruition.
Janelle left the publishing world in 2017 to care for her three children and continue her education at Western Theological Seminary. She received her MA in Christian Studies in 2023, giving her the unique perspective of both a writing and theological background, making her a great asset in the Christian-publishing sphere.
After graduating from WTS, Janelle has and continues to work with friends and former colleagues to copyedit and proofread a wide variety of projects including Christian non-fiction, YA fiction, and romance novels.
When Janelle isn’t working with authors and publishers to help them bring their stories and words to life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and dog. She is an active participant in her church and community. There’s nothing she likes more than hot coffee, a good book, and a comfy chair. She loves helping people and learning new things, both of which aid in her skills as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader.
Finally, Janelle is careful, detail-oriented, and thorough in her work. She never misses a deadline and cares for her clients and their success because the world can always use more books.
